Alvin, John

Rhinebeck - John Alvin, 59, passed away Wednesday in Rhinebeck.

John was a designer and illustrator of cinema art; and throughout his
career he has worked on campaign art for more than 120 films including
ET, Star Wars, 10, Blazing Saddles, and The Lion King.

He was a 1971 graduate of The Art Center College of Design in Los Angels.

Born November 24, 1948 in Fresno, CA, he was the son of Albert and
Rena (Troutman) Alvin. As the son of a US serviceman he lived in many
places around the world until his family settled in California.

John is survived by his wife Andrea (Brown) Alvin, whom he married May
29, 1971; a daughter Farah Alvin of New York City; a sister Suzanne
Alvin of Seaside, CA; and his poodle Milo.

Memorial services will be celebrated Sunday, February 10th, 1 PM, at
the Dapson-Chestney Funeral Home, 51 W. Market St., Rhinebeck.
