Barnett, William D.

Rhinebeck - William D. Barnett, 92, passed away Tuesday, March 30, 2010 at
the Ferncliff Nursing Home.

Mr. Barnett moved from the Bronx to Tivoli 1993.  He was a communicant of
the Good Shepherd Church and supportive of many veterans' organizations.

He served in the US Navy during WW II as a radar man on the USS Key.  Upon
his return he began working for the US Postal Service and completed his
career at the Ida Wild Post Office.

Born October 19, 1917 in New York he was the son of William D. and Gertrude
(Levy) Barnett.

On October 8, 1939 as St. Catherine of Genoa Church in Manhattan he married
Kay F. Sweeney.  Mrs. Barnett passed away in January 2, 1995.

Mr. Barnett is survived by a daughter Patricia Euell of Rhinebeck, a son
William D. Barnett, Jr. of Colts Neck, NJ; four grandchildren, Terry,
William, Kathleen and Kevin and 10 Great Grandchildren. He was predeceased
by a half brother Robert Barnett.

Graveside Services are Thursday, 9:30 AM, at the Rhinebeck Cemetery.

Rhinebeck.
