Rhinebeck – Helen Colavito, 88, a former Staatsburg resident, passed away Thursday, July 22, 2010, at the Baptist Home, Rhinebeck.
Mrs. Colavito served as corporal in the Marine Corps during WW II.
She was a communicant of the Good Shepherd Church, Rhinebeck and enjoyed her many friends at Heritage Pointe Apartments in Hyde Park.
Born September 4, 1921 in Brooklyn, she was the daughter of Max and Lillian (Franklin) Namm.
On January 25, 1948, at the Chapel of the Assumption, Brooklyn Heights, she married Orazio ‘Tony’ Colavito. Mr. Colavito passed away January 18, 2004.
Mrs. Colavito is survived by her three daughters, Elizabeth Landa and her husband Lawrence of Rhinebeck; Lillian Caramela and her husband Gregory of Poughkeepsie; and Maria DiBari and her husband John of Rockville Centre, NY; seven grandchildren, Michael, Jennifer (Dominick) and John (Carol) DiBari; Billie Nicole Caramela; Melissa (Duane), Daniel and Alex Landa; five great grandchildren, Isabella, Dominick V and John Milone, Lily Ann and Thomas Kenneth Brimacomb.
Calling hours are Friday, July 23, 2010, 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 PM, at the Dapson-Chestney Funeral Home, 51 W. Market St., Rhinebeck.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday, July 24, 2010, 10 AM, at the Good Shepherd Church, East Market St., Rhinebeck. Interment will be in the Rhinebeck Cemetery
