Decker, Anna C

Rhinebeck – Anna C. Decker, 88, passed away Tuesday, June 24, 2008, at The Oneida Extended Care Facility in Oneida, NY where she had been a resident for almost 4 years.

Anna formerly resided at Arnett Road in Rhinebeck, NY. In 1996 she moved to Noyes Manor, in Sherrill, NY.

Anna had been employed by The Standard Gage Co. of Poughkeepsie, NY for 32 years. Anna also worked in the drapery department at Wallace’s and Co. Following her retirement from Standard Gage she worked for ten years as a part time employee of the Rhinebeck Antique Center, from which she took great pleasure.

She was a member the Hedding United Methodist Church, Poughkeepsie, NY.

Born September 13, 1919 in Boston, MA, she was the daughter of Bertha (Fletcher) and Harry Teaso.

On February 19, 1949, at the Hedding United Methodist Church she married Willis R. Decker.

Anna is survived by her daughter Sharon L. Pierce, and her husband Arthur, of Sherrill, NY; granddaughter Stephanie J. Queen, and her husband James, of Red Hook, NY; a grandson Arthur R. Pierce, and his wife Elisabeth, of Holly Springs, NC; five great grandchildren; two nieces and three nephews.

She was predeceased by her beloved husband of 47 years, Willis R. Decker of Rhinebeck, NY; and a brother Harold R. Teaso of Poughkeepsie, NY

Calling hours are Friday, 5 to 7 PM, at the Dapson-Chestney Funeral Home, 51 W. Market St., Rhinebeck. Funeral services will begin at 7 PM Friday. Interment will be at the St. John’s Cemetery, Upper Red Hook, at the convenience of the family.
