Rhinebeck –
Landon S. June, 47, passed away Wednesday, October 29, 2008, at the
Columbia Memorial Hospital.
Landon was a graduate
of Rhinebeck High School and served in the US Army as a food service
specialist from July 5, 1979 to August 23, 1984. Following his service
he entered the Culinary Institute of America and graduated in 1987.
Landon was an avid golf enthusiast.
He began his career
as a chef at Bard College, Barrytown, and the Canary Café, Canaan,
Ct.. He joined the Sage Corp. and worked for many years at Franklin
and Marshal College, Lancaster, PA; Hershey Children’s School,
Hershey, PA; and nine years at Presbyterian Children’s Village,
Bryn Mayr, PA. Most recently he began working at Wilson College in Chambersburg,
PA.
Born December 28,
1960 in Poughkeepsie, he is the son of Donald and Joan (Dupilka) June
of Livingston.
In addition to his
parents he is survived by a sister Renee McCormick of Livingston; a
nephew Hugh McCormick of Rhinebeck; two nieces Nicole McCormick of Rhinebeck
and Danielle Raymond of Highland; two uncles Norman, and his wife Aline
June of North Miami Beach, Fl, and Everett June of Ravena; and one Aunt
Anne Cumbo.
Graveside funeral
services and military honors are Monday, 2 PM, in the Grasmere section
of the Rhinebeck Cemetery, Mill Rd., Rhinebeck.
Memorial service
are Tuesday, Nov. 4th, 2 PM, at the First Baptist Church of Rhinebeck
9 Astor Dr., Rhinebeck, NY. Rev. John Koppenaal and Rev. Thaddeus Dragula
will officiate.
