CLINTON CORNERS
- Ronald L. Kaan, 59, passed away Saturday, November 8, 2008. He was
on vacation enjoying his retirement and living life to its fullest.
Born in Holland on March
16, 1949 to the late Hendrik and Jeannette Kaan, he came to the U.S.
at the age of 6. He served in the US Navy from 1966-1970 as a Jet Mechanic.
After his tour of duty, Ron attended Farmingdale State College in Long
Island. He then began to work for New York Telephone until he retired
from Nynex in 1996, only to work for Verizon until he retired again
in December of 2007.
In his later years, Ron enjoyed
traveling, specifically cruises in the Caribbean. While home he could
always be found working in and around his house, never sitting still.
Ron was predeceased by his
brother Phillip Kaan. He is survived by his partner Carole Poulson,
his two sons, Ronald L. Kaan Jr. and his wife Kim of Hyde Park; and
Shawn M. Kaan and his partner Heather of Pine Plains; his two sisters,
Kitty Grim of Arizona, and Marion Schenkein of Ocean Gate, NJ; his brother
Ken Kaan and his partner Lisa of Lanoka Harbor, NJ; his grandchildren;
Kayla, Nevie, Trey, Riley, Jordyn, Seth, Courtney; and several nieces
and nephews. He is also survived by the children and grandchildren of
Carole Poulson; Michelle, her husband Jesse, their children Aurora and
Jesse; and Andrew.

4pm Saturday, November 22, 2008 at the Dapson-Chestney Funeral Home,
51 Market St, Rhinebeck, NY.
