Konrad, Gladys E.

Rhinebeck, New York - Gladys E. Konrad, 96, passed away Friday, January 4, 2008, at the
Thompson House in Rhinebeck.

Mrs. Konrad was previously a resident of Pleasant Valley and Thornwood in Westchester County. She had been employed by the New York Telephone Company, The Nestle Company and the County of Westchester as a switchboard operator.

Born March 26, 1911, she was the daughter of the late Francis A. and Katherine (Goodchild) King.
In 1936 she married Edward M. Konrad who predeceased her in 1974.

Mrs. Konrad was the loving mother of Barbara J. Dickett and her husband, William of Dutchess County and Edward R. Konrad, and his wife, Aija, of Kennesaw, Georgia. She was the loving Nana of six grandchildren, Bill, Michael, Lisa, Brian, Karen and David; six great-grandchildren, Rosemary, Lucy, Oliver, Roscoe, Maghnus, Austin.

She is predeceased by two sisters and two brothers. She leaves several nieces. A memorial service will be held Friday, March 14, 2008, at 11 AM at the Hawthorne Reformed Church, Hawthorne, New York. Interment will follow at Oakland Cemetery, Yonkers, N.Y.
