Frederick Taylor
Minton, 83, of Rhinebeck New York, passed suddenly on January 14th,
2012. Born February 3rd, 1928, he served in the NAVY from 1947-1949.
Frederick graduated from Trinity College in 1953. He married Nielsine
Bosworth in 1954. After short residencies in Maryland, and Delmar, NY,
the couple settled in Rhinebeck, NY in 1963.
Frederick was a
dedicated member of the Rhinebeck Reformed Church, where he served as
Elder and Deacon, and was active in numerous church functions. He was
employed with The Utica Fire Insurance Company until his retirement
in 1997. Upon his retirement, Frederick continued to enjoy his daily
brisk walks through the village of Rhinebeck, gardening, Army and Giants
football, and train travel throughout the United States with his beloved
wife and best friend, Nielsine. His enthusiasm for life and smile will
be fondly remembered.
Frederick is pre-deceased
by his parents, Claude and Grace (Taylor) Minton. He is survived by
his beloved wife of 57 years, Nielsine, his sister, Grace Platt of Burlington,
CT, his son, Stephen Minton of Brooklyn, NY, his three daughters, Carol
Minton of Exton, PA, Beverly Minton Wood of Rhinebeck, NY, and Sandra
Smith of Rochester, NY, and four grandchildren, Charlotte, Barrett,
Emily and Sarah.
Calling hours are
Tuesday, 2 to 4 and 6 to 8PM at Dapson-Chestney Funeral Home, 51West
Market Street in Rhinebeck. Funeral service will be 2 PM at the Rhinebeck
Reformed Church on Wednesday, January 19, Pastor Luis Perez presiding,
with burial in the Rhinebeck cemetery to follow.
