Franklin 'Frank' F. Rolff

Rhinebeck - Franklin 'Frank' F. Rolff, of Rhinebeck passed away on April 28, 2017 at his home in Rhinebeck.

Mr. Rolff was a veteran of WW II, Private First Class, Company D, Second Chemical Battalion, attached to the 45th Division under Lt. General George S. Patton, Commander of the 7th Army. He participated in the Sicilian and Italian Campaigns and was the recipient of the European African Middle Eastern Campaign ribbon with two bronze stars , Good Conduct Ribbon, and the WW II Victory Medal. He was a member of American Legion, Montgomery Post #429, Rhinebeck.

Following his service he operated a Country Store in Westbrookville before beginning his careers with Lederlee Laboratory, US Gypsum (Stony Point, NY, Houston, TX, and Baltimore, MD) and as a real estate broker in the Middletown area. He last worked as the building and grounds superintendent at the Holiday Hills YMCA in Pawling; and finally for 10 years as part time maintenance at Cornerstone Rehabilitation Center in Rhinebeck.

Born February 10, 1924 in Westbrookville, NY, he was the son of Jacob E. and Emma K (Schause) Rolff.

He is survived by his wife Patricia Rolff, whom he married in 1983; four children Barbara Ferger of Ocean Pines, MD, Linda Conklin of Middletown, NY, Karen Rolff of Port Jervis, NY, and Fred Rolff of Slate Hill, NY; three step-children Cathy Penni of Oregon City, OR, Ian Wender of Tempe, AZ, and Adam Dinsmore of Pawling, NY; a grandson Kevin Ferger, granddaughter Ahna Dinsmore; 2 great grandchildren, Cole and Rory Ferger; a sister-in-law Betty McPherson, five nieces Carol Hill, Debbie Golebiowski, Robin Farr, Sandy Kuffel and Nancy Bradford.

He was predeceased by a brother William Rolff.

Calling hours are Thursday May 11 4 to 7 PM at the Dapson-Chestney Funeral Home, 51 W. Market St., Rhinebeck. Funeral Services are Friday May 12 at 11 AM at the Reformed Church of Rhinebeck,

Interment with Military Honors by Montgomery Post #429 and the Honor Guard will follow at the Rhinebeck Cemetery.
