Henrietta (Robinson) Armstrong

Henrietta Robinson Armstrong passed away peacefully on July 3, 2017 in Rhinebeck, NY where she had been residing for the past few years. She was 94 years old .

Henrietta was born May 7, 1923 in Fort Fairfield, Maine to Arnold and Pearl Robinson. It was there that she was raised on a potato farm. She often said how much she enjoyed having freedom to live and play in a beautiful rural setting while learning the responsibility of hard work and healthy living from living on a farm. 

As much as Henrietta enjoyed Maine she moved to California to reunite with her high school sweetheart Leonard Armstrong who was being discharged from the Army after WWII. They soon married and settled in Topanga, CA. She said it was the best decision she ever made. They had one daughter Bonnie Armstrong Harrington. Bonnie had one child, Gregory Harrington. Henrietta was predeceased by her husband Leonard and her daughter Bonnie. She is survived by her Grandson, Greg Harrington of Leesburg, Virginia, his wife Christie Judith Harrington and their 3 year old son Blake. Henrietta is also survived by her sister Rheta M Southard of Rhinebeck, NY, her two daughters and four grandchildren, and Robert Robinson and wife Dede of Fort Fairfield, ME and their three sons and their 8 grandchildren as well as many other extended family and friend from California to Maine. 

Known to their friends and family as "HEN and LEN" and their Grandson Greg as "Raggie and Mumpy" they enjoyed an active community life and traveled the United States often. They were a very close and fun loving family. 

Henrietta was a great example of how to handle the ups and downs in life. No stranger to adversity she believed that the best attitude is a positive one. She believed it a waste of time to dwell on things outside her control She focused on the things she could do to make a positive impact for herself and others. She made friends easily and loved a good party. Henrietta lived each day like it was her first and last. She used to say each day you need a reason to get up and get out to live. 

Always good for a joke or a good one-liner, Henrietta will be greatly missed by those closest to her. She taught us all how this life can start and end the right way. 

There are no calling hours. 

Services are private and at the convenience of the family.
