Rosemary Armstrong

Rhinebeck - Rosemary Armstrong, 88, of Rhinebeck, passed away at the Baptist Home on March 3, 2017.

Born in the Bronx on October 20, 1928, she was the daughter of the late Timothy and Elizabeth (Gargan) Moriarty.

Rosemary worked for AT&T and earned her Bachelor Degree at Wesleyan College. She taught elementary students with special needs after her retirement in Manchester, Vermont. She married Frank G Armstrong. The two lived together in Rhinebeck before his passing on February 25, 2006. Rosemary enjoyed collecting art, dancing and theater. She was an avid reader and was a great fan of the author Jane Austen. She is survived by her brother Timothy Moriarty (Denise) and her three step children Gary (Maureen), Francis (Lisa), and Catherine as well as seven nieces and one nephew along with many great nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her brother Patrick and sister Patricia. Friends may call at the Dapson-Chestney Funeral Home, 51 W. Market St., Rhinebeck on Wednesday March 8, from 2 to 4 PM and 6 to 8 PM.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at the Good Shepherd Church on Thursday March 9, 2017 at 10:30 AM. Burial will follow at the Gate of Heaven Cemetery in Hawthorne, NY.
