Staatsburg – Robert T. "Bob" Osika, 72, passed away Wednesday, May 26th, 2010, at St. Francis Hospital in Poughkeepsie, NY.

Bob worked for P & S Wrecking in Yonkers, NY; after moving to Staatsburg in 1972 he was the Town of Clinton Highway Superintendent; and from 1978 to 1999 he worked construction for the Laborers Local #1000 in Poughkeepsie, NY.

Bob was a communicant of the Good Shepherd Church, Rhinebeck, and was a volunteer fireman and Lieutenant for the West Clinton Fire Co. Station #1.

Bob was an avid fisherman, a member of the NRA, a carpenter and master wood worker. Proud of his Polish heritage, he could often be found in his workshop listening to his favorite Polish music.

Born July 3, 1937 in Yonkers, he was the son of John and Jean (Antoniewski) Osika. 

On September 29, 1963, he married Anna M. Krasovich at the Most Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Yonkers NY.  Mrs. Osika survives at home in Staatsburg.

In addition to his wife he is survived by two sons, Robert C. Osika, and his partner Susan of PA, and Mark T. Osika of Staatsburg; two grandchildren, Katherine and Megan Osika; four sisters, Beverly Boger, and her husband Lawrence of Atlantis, FL;  Brenda Vigliotti and her partner Frank D’Ambrosio of Yonkers; Tina Osika of Purdys, NY; and Maryann Osika; two brothers, John Osika and his wife Damar of Lagrange, and Joseph Osika of PA; and several nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews, and cousins.

He was predeceased by a brother, Richard Osika.

In keeping with his wishes, there will be no calling hours. A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 AM, Friday, June 4th at the Good Shepherd Church in Rhinebeck NY. His ashes will be interred in the Pleasant Plains Cemetery in the Town of Clinton.
