Tivoli, NY – Lydia
B. Redmond, 107, died very peacefully at her home in Tivoli on January
14, 2010.
Mrs. Redmond was born in
Rome, Italy, on April 3, 1902, to Alessandro and Catherine (Spalding)
Bodrero.
During her long life she
lived in Hawaii at her grandfather Zephaniah Swift Spalding’s
sugar plantation on the island of Kauai, In New York, in Santa Barbara,
CA, in Rome, Italy and for the past 45 years based in Tivoli, NY,
mostly at the Pynes, ancestral home of Roland Livingston Redmond.
She was predeceased by
her husbands, Valentine Everit Macy, Jr., Ranieri Bourbon Del Monte
Santa Maria, Prince di San Faustino (Italy) and Roland Livingston
Redmond.
Mrs. Redmond is survived
by her daughter Edith Macy Schoenborn and her son Montino Bourbon
Del Monte Santa Maria, her son-in-law Karl Schoenborn and her daughter-in-law
Rita McIntyre Bourbon Del Monte Santa Maria, and three granddaughters
Camilla, Alexandra and Isabella Bourbon Del Monte Santa Maria, and
one great grandson Maxwell Bourbon –Burkhardt, son of Alexandra
and Jedediah Burkhardt.
A Funeral Mass will be
celebrated Saturday, January 23, 2010, at noon at St. Sylvia’s
Catholic Church in Tivoli. Interment will be private at St. John’s
Cemetery, Barrytown.
