Steward, Eda T.

Rhinebeck- Eda T. Steward, 86, passed away Wednesday, November 19, 2008, at the Northern Dutchess Hospital.

Mrs. Steward was a lifelong Rhinebeck resident and an active member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, Wurtemburg. 

Born January 17, 1922, in Rhinebeck, she was the daughter of Jesse and Ethel Mae (Forman) Tompkins.

Mrs. Steward is survived by her husband of 63 years, Roy A. Steward; three sons, Rev. Roy Steward, Jr., and his wife Margaret of Altoona, PA, David Steward Sr., and his wife Josephine of Rhinebeck, and Daniel Steward, and his wife Eva of Elizaville; eight grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; a brother David Tompkins of Rhinebeck; a sister Muriel Marston of Maine; a son-in-law Bruce T. Fraleigh of Rhinebeck; a sister-in-law Jean Tompkins; and several nieces and nephews.  She was predeceased by a daughter Carol Fraleigh; two brothers Robert and Thomas Tompkins and a twin sister Esther.

There are no calling hours.

Memorial services are Saturday, November 22nd, 10 AM, at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, 371 Wurtemburg Rd. Rhinebeck. A reception will follow in the Church Hall.
