Rhinebeck – Roy A.
Steward, 91, passed away Monday, January 16, 2012, at the Northern Dutchess
Hospital.
Mr. Steward was partners
with Dave Grimes of Rhinebeck Plumbing and Heating. He had also worked
as an Oil Technician with Stark Tator and was working with Wolcott Builders
at the time of his retirement.
He was an avid hunter and
fisherman and was a life member of the Neighbors Gun Club.
Born November 4, 1920 in
Sheeps Head Bay, Brooklyn, he was the son of Ronald A. and Georgiana
(Neusse) Steward.
He was predeceased on November
19, 2008 by his wife of 63 years, Eda (Tompkins) Steward; his daughter
Carol Fraleigh; and sister Henrietta Schmidt
Mr. Steward is survived by
three sons, David Steward, Sr., and his wife Josephine of New Bern,
NC; Rev. Roy Steward, and his wife Margaret of Altoona, PA; and Daniel
Steward, and his wife Eva of Red Hook; a son-in-law Bruce Fraleigh of
Rhinebeck; 9 Grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren
A memorial service will be
Saturday, February 11th, 11 AM , at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church,
Wurtemburg Rd., Rhinebeck. Interment will follow in the Wurtemburg Cemetery.
Memorial donations may be
made to the St. Paul’s Lutheran Church or the Rhinebeck Fire Dept.
