White, Betty Jane

Rhinebeck – Betty Jane White, 69, passed away Monday September 29, 2008, at Westchester Medical Center.

Betty was a Rhinebeck resident for many years and had been employed by Pius XII as Assistant Directory of Child Care and Recreation Director at the Holy Cross Campus for more than twenty years.  In addition, she owned Mammy Jammy’s, a catering and concession business, which she operated at many events including the Dutchess County Fair and the Saugerties Garlic Festival. 

She was a member of the Rhinebeck Chamber of Commerce. 

Born August 15, 1939 in Ossining, NY, she was the daughter of Albert and Kathleen (Crawford) White.

Betty is survived by a great aunt, Margaret Boyd, a niece Linda White, three half brothers and many relatives and friends.

Calling  hours are Friday, 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 PM, at Dapson-Chestney Funeral Home, 51 W. Market St., Rhinebeck. 

Funeral services are Saturday, 11 AM, at the Church of the Messiah, Montgomery St., Rhinebeck, NY.  Interment will be in the Rhinebeck Cemetery.
