Clinton, NY – Barbara J. Dickett, 77, passed away Thursday, September 20, 2018, at her home in Clinton.
Born May 2, 1941 in Yonkers she was the daughter of Edward and Gladys (King) Konrad.
Barbara was a talented artist and painted folk art and nature scenes; many of her works have been sold in New York and Maine, and at local craft fairs and art shows.
A devoted mother, Barbara was a Boy Scout leader for her sons Billy, Mike and Brian; and a 4-H leader for Lisa and Brian. She taught them to care for rabbits; and shared her knowledge of arts, crafts and woodworking.
At home, Barbara was a talented cook and baker; many of her confectionaries, breads, and jams were sold at the Green Market in New York City, and shared with family and friends.
With her high school sweetheart and husband of nearly 55 years, William ‘Bill’ Dickett, Sr., she enjoyed travel, especially to Alaska and Hawaii; and fishing.
Her husband, children, and friends will remember her outgoing personality, and her willingness to lend a hand or help out in any way.
Barbara is survived by her husband, her cherished children William E. (Andrea) Dickett, Jr. of Washington, DC; Michael A. (Tara) Dickett of Clinton; Lisa A Walton of Clinton; and Brian D. (Rozlyn) Dickett of Los Angles; three grandchildren, Austin, Maghnus and Nola; and a brother Edward (Aija) Konrad of Atlanta.
Calling hours are Saturday, September 29th, 12-2 PM, at the Dapson-Chestney Funeral Home, 51 W. Market St., Rhinebeck. A time of reflection will begin at 1:45.
