Dr. George Siegel Obituary

Staatsburg- Dr. George L. Siegel, 84, formerly of New York City, passed away at his home in Staatsburg, NY on Monday.

Beloved husband of Jean Siegel, devoted father of Robert Siegel, Steven Siegel, and Laura Siegel, caring uncle of Andrew Siegel and Fred Siegel, and loving grandfather to Olivia, Jasper and Chloe.

Born in Brooklyn, New York, Dr. Siegel was the son of the late Harry and Birdie (Safier) Siegel and younger brother to the late Arnold Siegel.  He attended college at Colgate University and medical school at Albany Medical College.  For over 40 years, he practiced medicine on the upper east side of Manhattan, specializing in Endocrinology and Internal Medicine.

Dr. Siegel was a sports fan, an avid skier, and enjoyed tennis and fishing.  He was a life-long animal lover and, through his wife Jean, was involved in feline rescue in the Hudson Valley.  In his later years, he enjoyed vegetable gardening, tending to his fish pond, and visits with his grandchildren.
