Although I've known Donna for 45 years, it was only the last 2 years my granddaughter Addison and I got to know the lovely George Zulch.

From the moment my 8 year old granddaughter met him, she adored him. And it was visible to all, much to our astonishment, that the feeling was mutual. They both beamed in each other's prescience. Addison told him he was "awesome", loved his shirt, admired the way he handled his walker, gently guiding him with her hand on his side. Donna and I stepped back as these two seemed to scamper down the hall of the assisted living. The day continued much the same, with Addison drawing a portrait of George, that he asked her to sign. He gave her a whole bag of lollipops, to share with her 4 brothers, which She treasured. Donna & I witnessed the beauty of their friendship and to this day warmed and awed by it. To me, George was a lovely man, and Donna a wonderful daughter who took excellent care of him.

I feel so fortunate that I got to meet and visit with George over the last couple of years. He was a true gentleman and dear man. He was lucky to have such a loving and caring family. Watching Donna and Noreen sit vigil with him through his last days was very special and beautiful. You two are truly amazing. My condolences to the whole family.
