Irma H Caldwell

Hudson - Irma H. Caldwell, 93, of Hudson, NY and formerly Westford, NY, passed away peacefully on December 28, 2017 at the Baptist Home in Rhinebeck, NY.

Born in Dutchess County in 1924, she was the daughter of the late Arthur and Gladys (Wilson) Heuchele.

Irma had a lifelong passion for horses, which began at Southlands in Rhinebeck. A graduate of Staatsburg High School, she worked at the Beekman Arms, where she served FDR on several occasions. She also served as Sunday School Superintendent at the Hillside Methodist Church.

Irma is survived by her daughters, Joanne (Herb) Brunson of Hudson, NY, Nancy (Neil) Lindberg of Burlington Flats, NY, Deb (Jim) Dahlin of Bozeman, MT; a sister, Jeannette Fatum of Hudson, NY; her grandchildren, Jennifer (Brunson) Miller of Saugerties, NY, Herb (Melissa) Brunson III of Saugerties, NY, Kimberly (Patrick) Lesko of Tully, NY, and Andrew (Courtney) Ballard of West Burlington, NY; five great grandchildren, and several nieces and a nephew. She was predeceased by her sister, Edna Mattison.

There will be no calling hours. Burial will be at the Pleasant Plains Cemetery at the convenience of the family.

The family wishes to thank all those who cared for Irma during her later years, including her Westford, NY neighbors, her devoted caregivers, Nancy and Laura, as well as the nursing staff and doctors at the Baptist Home.

Memorial donations may be made in Irma’s memory to the Columbia-Greene Humane Society, 125 Humane Society Rd., Hudson, NY 12534 or to the Susquehanna Animal Shelter, 4841 State Highway 28, Cooperstown, NY 13326.
