Mary Ellen Queen

Granville- Mary Ellen Queen, formerly of Rhinebeck, NY, passed away on Thursday, August 24, at Albany Medical Center.

Born on November 27, 1938, in Poughkeepsie, she was the daughter of the late Gordon and Nellie (Baldwin) Mergendahl Sr.

Mary Ellen attended Rhinebeck Schools and on March 23, 1957, at the United Methodist Church of Rhinebeck, she married Stuart R. Queen, Sr. Mr. Queen survives at home.

She was a life member of the Rhinecliff Fire Department and a member of the Rhinebeck Grange #896.

In addition to her husband, Mary Ellen is survived by her daughters Sheri (Donald) Flemming of Hershey, PA, and Jan (Vincent) Doolittle of Granville, NY; 8 grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren; a sister, Janet Rugar of Poughkeepsie, NY, and brothers Eugene, David, and Robert.

She was predeceased by her son Stuart Queen, Jr. in 2001,  her parents, 3 brothers and 1 sister.

There are no calling hours.

A private service will be held at the Rhinebeck Cemetery at the convenience of the family.
