Richard "Jay" Espie

Rhinebeck - Richard "Jay" Espie, 86, passed away Thursday, April 13, 2017 at his home in Rhinebeck.

Jay was a lifetime Rhinebeck resident where he had worked as a home builder and carpenter. He was also member and past master of the Rhinebeck Lodge #432 F.&A.M.

The son of Thomas and Jeannette (Tator) Espie, he was born March 22, 1931 in Poughkeepsie.

His Wife, Lorraine H. (Weaver) Espie passed away passed away January 13, 2000.

Jay is survived by two sons, Jeffrey, and his wife Maria of Red Hook; and Kevin, and his wife Debbie of Rhinebeck; three grandchildren Brenden Espie, Jenna Garcia and Amanda Serroukas; three great grandchildren Taylor, Makenzie and Evelyn; a brother Thomas; three sisters Romaine, Gladys and Gail; and many nieces, nephews and friends. He was predeceased by a sister Nancy.

Calling hours are 5 to 7 PM, Tuesday, April 18th, at the Dapson-Chestney Funeral Home, 51 W. Market St., Rhinebeck.
