Roseline (Roz) Young

Rhinebeck- Roseline Young, 70, passed away peacefully at her home in Rhinebeck on November 28, 2017.
 
Born in Paris, France on August 29, 1947, she was the daughter of the late Chaim and Zlata (Markovietzka) Poderycki and the younger sister of the late Maurice Poderycki.
 
Roseline worked as a Computer Engineer for IBM in Poughkeepsie after graduating from Ossining High School in 1965 and SUNY Albany in 1969 where she received her degree in Mathematics.
 
On May 21, 1978, at Dutchess Manor, she married the love of her life and best friend, Henry Young. Mr. Young predeceased her in 2016.
 
Along with her husband, Roseline was an active council member at the Lifetime Learning Institute at Bard College. 
She maintained a wide circle of friends and neighbors, bringing smiles and laughter to all.   The annual Memorial Day celebration at the Young's home created lifelong memories for everyone. 
 
Roseline is survived by two sister-in-laws Elizabeth (Kenneth) Campbell and Sandra (Maurice-deceased) Poderycki; three nieces Susan (Charles) Hill, Nancy (Chris) Scanlon, and Barbara (John) Bowker; two nephews Gregory (Anne-deceased) Haight and Michael (Seema) Poderycki; and 11 grand nieces and nephews. 

Calling hours are Thursday, 11 AM to 1 PM, at the Dapson-Chestney Funeral Home, 51 W. Market St., Rhinebeck. A celebration of life and time of sharing for family and friends will begin at 12:30 PM. Interment will follow in the Rhinebeck Cemetery. 

Memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society.
