Anthony Thompson Obituary

Anthony Thompson, 20, of Rhinebeck, NY, passed peacefully surrounded by loved ones on Wednesday, July 20th 2022 at 7:11pm.

Anthony's early life was abound with struggle. Left up for adoption and placed in treatment centers and foster homes, Anthony's greatest wish was to have a place to call home, and people to call family. When Anthony entered the Astor Home for Children in 2010, he began a journey that would make this dream a reality. Glenn, an employee of Astor, developed relationships with countless children over the years, but none quite like the bond he shared with Anthony. When Anthony was adopted by Glenn, it was as if he had been part of the family all along.

Although his time on this Earth was cut painfully short, Anthony lived every day to the fullest. He was an avid fisherman, loved animals and the outdoors, the Broncos, playing football, cooking and grilling. Mostly, Anthony loved people, and people loved Anthony. He was known to be seen walking his neighborhood every day, making friends with everyone he met, helping out in any way he could. Anthony never stopped smiling, and his smile was contagious. You couldn't help but love him. This is why so many will be touched by this loss, but all are lucky to have known him and to have learned from him. Anthony never took anything too seriously. Despite all the curveballs thrown at him in life, he remained relentlessly positive, facing each day with wonder and excitement.

Anthony leaves behind his devoted father, Glenn Ninesling; siblings Jacob, Joseph, Nathaniel, Noel, Angelica, Wayne, Chris (Mandy) Peirano and Dean Peirano; nephew, who was like a brother and best friend, Zackery Peirano; niece and nephew Natalie and Charlie Peirano; the family he adopted, the Imperatos; his best friends Luke, Dave, James, Noah and countless others he made along the way.

Anthony was pure of heart and soul, sweet, kind and gentle. He could light up a room with his smile, and make you laugh just by hearing his. The world has lost an incredible person, whose memories will live on forever in all those he has touched.
