Frank J Ackley, 79, of Rhinebeck, NY passed peacefully on February 26, 2025 at Maplewood @ Stony Hill in Bethel, CT.
Frank was born in Kingston, NY on February 4, 1946. He was predeceased by his mother, Dorothea M Ackley, his father, Frank E Ackley and his step-mother, Elsie M Ackley. Frank is survived by his step-brother and sister-in-law, Warren J and Lori Pelham.
Frank graduated from Kingston High School in 1963, after which he proudly and honorably served in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War era from 1963 –1967. Frank was briefly employed with IBM before beginning his career with the NYS Police, attaining the position of Zone Sergeant in Troop K – Zone 1, retiring in 2001 after 31 years of service. During his career he was proud to serve as a member of the original “Mobile Response Team” that was created for the 1980 Winter Olympics, as well as a member of the Division’s SCUBA detail.
At this time, there are no plans for a formal service; however, a memorial for Frank will be held in the future.
