George Weber Obituary

Staatsburg – George Weber, 77, passed away peacefully on Sunday April 14, 2024 at the Ferncliff Nursing Home from a debilitating illness.

George was born in Boston, MA on October 19, 1946. He was predeceased by his parents, Alva and Virginia Weber.

He retired from the USPS as a Supervisor at the Mid-Hudson Sectional Center after 38 years of service.

George was an avid hunter, fisherman, and enjoyed watching or playing sports.

He is survived by his wife Carolyn of 57 years; his daughter Kathleen (Vincent) Gizzi; his son Richard; a brother Alva (Corinne) Weber; sisters Shirley Dennington and Donna Weber; brother-in-law’s Thomas (Madeline) O’Malley, Robert (Eileen) O’Malley, and Timothy VanKeuren; two grandchildren and four great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews, grandnephews, grandnieces as well as many cousins.

Memorial donations in honor of George can be made to Hudson Valley Hospice, 374 Violet Ave., Poughkeepsie, NY 12601, the Hidden Hollow Riding Center, 6 Hidden Hollow Trail., Red Hook, NY, 12571, or the Anderson Center for Autism, 4885 US-9, Staatsburg, NY 12580.

A Memorial Service will be held at the convenience of the family and announced later this spring.
