Rhinebeck – Harold A. Balint, 98, a lifetime resident of Rhinebeck, passed away at the Eleanor Nursing Home on January 12, 2024.
Born in Rhinebeck on December 10, 1925, he was the son of the late Stephen and Beatrice (Quick) Balint.
After graduating from Rhinebeck Highschool in 1943, Harold entered the Army and served from 1944-1946. Upon his return home, he began working for NYS Taconic State Parkway.
He loved the beach and nature. In his later years he became a snowbird and would take his camper down to stay in Florida during the winter.
Family was very important to Harold. In his final years, he was able to stay with his daughter Toni and son in law John.
Harold is Survived locally by daughter, Toni & John Baldwin; grandson, Tim & Jen Baldwin; granddaughter, Shannon & Jonathan Baldwin; great granddaughters, Brittany & Katherine Baldwin and great grandsons, Tyler Baldwin & Dudley Ferguson.
He is survived Out of State by sister, Adelaide Dean Grenier of Ct; son, Thomas & Cindy Balint of NH; Grandson, Jamey & Jodi Balint of NH, granddaughter in law, Trish Balint & great granddaughter, Ayla Balint of NH as well as several nephews and their families.
He was predeceased by a daughter Teresa D Balint and a son Tyrone W. Balint, grandsons Jason P. Balint and Sean P. Baldwin, his former wife Gertrude W. Balint, as well as great grandsons Tyler J. Balint and Christian Denegar Baldwin.
There are no calling hours.
Services will be at the convenience of the family later in the spring.
