Rhinebeck – Joseph L. Kish, 87, passed away Tuesday, August 10, 2022.
Joe was a lifelong area resident. He graduated from Kingston High School and a few years later, after working for several local businesses, he began his 58 year career at IBM. During that time he worked in Kingston, Fishkill and Poughkeepsie. Following his retirement from IBM he worked for Axiom, Flour Daniels and Grubbnells.
Joe was a life member of the Neighbors Rod & Gun Club; a member of the IBM quarter century club, and was an avid fisherman and hunter.
Born April 25, 1935 in Kingston, he was the son of Alexander and Pauline (Mallinaggi) Kish
On November 25, 1961 he married Marion ‘Midge” (Decker) Kish, Midge passed away October 3, 1999.
Joe is survived by his children, Gary Kish of Rhinebeck, David Kish of Rhinebeck, and Stacy Kish of Tivoli; three grandchildren, David Kish, Jeanette Myers, Steve Mergenthaler Jr., and Nikie Monteleone; two great grandchildren, Gianna Rose Kish and David Z. Kish, USMC; and two nieces Diane Jensen and Arlene DuBois. He was predeceased by his grandson David C. Kish, and a brother Alexander Kish, Jr.
Calling hours are Monday, August 15th, 4:00 to 7:00 PM, at the Dapson-Chestney Funeral Home, 51 W. Market St., Rhinebeck. Funeral services will be Monday at 6:30 PM. Interment at Rhinebeck Cemetery will be at the convenience of the family.
