Kevin R. Lomasney

Kevin R. Lomasney, age 64, of Tybee Island, GA died peacefully on Sunday, June 18, 2023, accompanied by his loving partner Sherry Shaw. Mr. Lomasney was born October 2, 1958 in Poughkeepsie, NY. He was the son of James T. Lomasney, Sr. and Elizabeth Trombley Lomasney, and step-mother, Kathleen Sherman Lomasney, whom predeceased him. Kevin attended Regina Coeli and Franklin D. Roosevelt High School, and then in 1976, enlisted in the United States Marine Corps. He proudly served in various posts across the country. After being honorably discharged from the Marines, he settled in Las Vegas for a number of years before returning home to work in the family heating business, Lomasney Combustion.

Kevin could make you laugh. He found humor in everyday life and shared his laughter with everyone. He was a good friend who had a big heart and would do anything for anyone. He enjoyed boating on Sacandaga Lake, hunting, fishing, and spending time outdoors. He loved restoring old furniture, fixing things, but most of all, he enjoyed spending time with family and friends.

His love, Sherry Shaw, survives at home. He is survived by his children: Sarah(Ryan) Graham and Jacqueline Scherer of Las Vegas, NV, son Brett Deneve of Buffalo, NY, Jacob, Megan, and Alexander Lomasney of Kingston, NY. Additionally, his brother David W. Lomasney (Sharon) of Hilton Head, SC, sisters Karen Lomasney Tobias (Bryan), of Staatsburg, NY, and Mary Lomasney Utter (George) of Staatsburg, NY also survive. He is also survived by grandson Davin and many nieces and nephews. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers James T. Jr., John W. and Bruce M. Lomasney, and grandson Torin.

Graveside Services will be held on August 11 at the Rhinebeck Cemetery 2 pm. A Memorial gathering will be held at the American Legion at 2:30pm, following the burial.
