Kyle D. Hawley, 30, passed away unexpectedly on November 25, 2020.
Born in Rhinebeck, NY on January 31, 1990, he was the son of Marguerite Hawley and Robert Mergenthaler.
Raised mainly in Potsdam, Kyle graduated from Potsdam Central Schools and later worked security and maintenance at SUNY Canton, Clarkson University and the Beekman Arms in Rhinebeck.
Kyle had a kind heart and was caring in nature. He loved the outdoors - snowboarding, skateboarding, hiking. He loved music and outdoor festivals. He had a special relationship with his nieces. He was loved by family and friends.
In addition to his parents, Kyle is survived by a sister, Erica Hawley of Gainesville, Florida, a sister, Eleanor Malloy and her husband Gregory Malloy of Bristol, Rhode Island, a brother, Adam Mergenthaler of South Carolina, a brother, Jeremy Mergenthaler of South Carolina and a brother, Matthew Mergenthaler of Germantown NY; as well as nieces Taylor Donelan, Madeline Sunley, Olivia Malloy, Kelsey, Brianna, Karli, and Tori Mergenthaler, and nephew Myles Mergenthaler.
His Maternal grandparents Raymond and Eleanor Hawley of Rhinebeck, NY and his paternal grandparents Frederick and Mabel Mergenthaler of Red Hook, NY are predeceased.
There are no calling hours.
A graveside service will be held in the natural section of the Rhinebeck Cemetery on Friday December 4 at 10:30 am.
