Lee M. Roush Sr., 55, a former resident of Rhinebeck, passed away at Vassar Brother’s Medical Center on April 8, 2025 with his children by his side.
Born in Rhinebeck on December 4, 1969, he was the son of Robert and Peggy (Gitschier) Roush.
Lee served in the US Navy as an Engine Worker from 1989 to 1992. Upon returning home he became a Paramedic, working mainly for Northern Dutchess Paramedics.
Lee was a kind and caring man who was known and loved by so many. He loved playing baseball with his family, friends and colleagues. He enjoyed working on projects and making gifts like handmade belts and gun holsters. He was always jamming to the dead and going to concerts. He was a master at jeopardy and a serious movie buff. There is nothing he loved more than spending time with his grandchildren.
Lee is survived by his children, Matthew Roush (wife, Kayla) and Makenzie Roush (husband, Philip), his grandchildren Sylis and Lily, his parents Robert and Peggy Roush, and his siblings Robert Roush Jr., Holly Roush, and Heidi Hiznay.
He was predeceased by Parker and Lena Gitschier, William Gitschier, Richard Luke, Darleen Jackson, and Emily Gorsuch.
Memorial Hours will be held at Dapson Chestney Funeral Home, 51 W. Market St., Rhinebeck on Thursday April 17 from 4PM to 6PM.
A Memorial Service will begin at 6PM.
