Linda Gower

Rhinebeck – Linda J. (Dennis) Gower, 80, of Rhinebeck, passed away peacefully at The Meadows at Brookmeade, on May 16, 2025.

Born in Wilkes-Barre, PA on February 12, 1945, she was the daughter of the late Theodore and Bessie (Miller) Dennis.

On June 3, 1967 in Wilkes-Barre, PA, she married Edward J. Gower of Wappingers Falls, NY.  Edward Gower predeceased her in 2021.

Linda graduated from the Wilkes-Barre General Hospital School of Nursing in 1967 and worked as a registered nurse in Rhinebeck for many years.   

Linda was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother (GiGi) and great grandmother.  She enjoyed traveling when she was able with her husband to Maine and Glacier Park.  She loved to read, work on word puzzles, she loved the NY Yankees and enjoyed feeding and watching the birds.  She was strong, kind and adored by her children, their spouses, and grandchildren.

Linda is survived by her children Edward Gower II (Pamela), Jennifer White (Jason), Alison Sulinski (John), and Sara Schillinger (Ethan); a brother Ted (Ellen) Dennis. She also leaves behind 10 grandchildren, of which she was immensely proud: Jonathan, Christopher, Kayleigh, Lauren, Megan, Andrew, Matthew, Emma, Avery and Oliver; and two great grandchildren: Tanner and Lucas.

There are no calling hours. A memorial service will be held at a later date.

Arrangements are under the direction of the Dapson-Chestney Funeral Home, Rhinebeck, NY.
