Linda Bette Stacks, 86, of Ormond Beach, FL and previously long time resident of Rhinebeck, NY, died October 12, 2025. Born in Brooklyn, NY on August 15, 1939, she was the daughter of pre-deceased Earl and Sophie Kroun Stacks and sister of Myron Stacks. She grew up in Rhinebeck, NY, graduated from Rhinebeck Central School and attended Vermont Junior College in Montpelier, VT. While in school she lived in New York and Connecticut and had a love of riding horses and playing the piano. She was very active in school activities and various organizations. Prior to living in Ormond Beach, she lived in Call, TX and worked outdoors in the construction industry, including the climbing of high towers. Linda moved to Florida in 1999 to be closer to her son and grandchildren.
She was a wonderful, caring grandmother to her two grandsons and a huge help to her
daughter-in-law Mary Bell Unson. She truly was the matriarch of the Unson family in Ormond Beach.
Linda is survived by her brother, Myron and sister-in-law, Barbara of Essex, CT, her son, Jeffery Unson and grandsons, Tyler and Zachary, all of Ormond Beach, as well as Mary Unson, the daughter she never had. She is also survived by her great grandson Atlas and great granddaughter Odyssey Moon as well as her niece Courtney Stacks.
She was pre-deceased by her son, Brian, as well as her aunts Frieda Zucker and Jacqueline Greenberg, cousins John Stacks, Melvin Copen and Ilona Goldstein, and grand-daughter, Melissa Bell. She has many surviving cousins.
Funeral services will be held in Ormand Beach, FL. Burial will be in the Rhinebeck Cemetery on Friday December 5, 2025, at 11am.
