Marcus “Marty” Howard, a lifelong Rhinebeck area resident, passed away on July 3rd. He was born in Rhinebeck on September 8, 1955.
He worked as a carpenter and took pride in the many fine homes he worked on. In his younger years, Marty was an avid hunter and angler. Like many locals, Marty participated in the Landsman Kill Fishing contest as a youth. He passed that tradition along to his sons and grandchildren.
Marcus is survived by his son Sean (Heather)Howard, his grandchildren Charles and Benjamin of Rhinebeck, his sisters Leslie (Paul)Dugliss of Kingston, Kim (Jan)Rockefeller of Red Hook, Barbara Kendrick of Florida and their many loved children and grandchildren.
He is predeceased by his son Ryan Marcus Howard, and his parents Irma Laura DuBois and Charles Howard.
In Lieu of flowers memorial donations can be made in Marty’s honor to the Ryan Howard memorial scholarship 40 Trinity Place, Rhinebeck. The family will hold a private prayer service at a future date.
