Mary I. Stefenelli, 98, a former resident of Milan, NY, passed away at Ferncliff Nursing Home on April 5, 2025.
Born in Brooklyn, NY on July 3, 1926, she was the daughter of the late Vito and Filomena Trimarco.
Mary traveled back and forth from the city to Milan for many years before settling in Milan permanently in the 1990’s where she took in many children as their nanny, something she loved dearly.
In 1984, she met Lawrence Rosenfeld in New York City. The two remained together for over 40 years. Mr. Rosenfeld survives at home.
Mary liked to sew, garden, and cook for loved ones. Her and Larry frequently traveled down south to warmer weather and ventured to Maine a few times but she truly loved taking care of children.
In addition to her partner Larry, Mary is survived by her nephew Eddie and his wife Annie; a niece Marie, her husband Jim and Marie’s children JJ and Lisa; and her god-daughter Sharon as well as the families of David and Jason Rosenfeld.
Memorial Hours in honor of Mary will be held at the Dapson-Chestney Funeral Home, 51 W. Market St., Rhinebeck, NY on Friday April 11, 2025, from 4 PM to 5 PM.
A Memorial Service will begin at 5 PM.
