Paul Schram Obituary

Rhinebeck – Paul J. Schram, 81, of Rhinebeck, passed away on February 23, 2023 at Westchester Medical Center after a brief illness.

 

Born in Rome, NY on December 19, 1941, he was the son of the late Leon and Anna (Kulik) Schram.

 

Paul served in the US Navy from 1961 to 1964, after which he attended college. He then went on to work for IBM, where he spent his entire career, until his retirement in 2002.

 

He enjoyed the outdoors and staying active. He was a lifelong tinkerer and could fix just about anything.

 

He married AnnaMaria Pacicca on September 23, 1967 at St. John’s Church in Rome, NY. They were married for 53 years. AnnaMaria predeceased Paul in 2020.

 

Paul was a communicant of The Good Shepherd Church in Rhinebeck, where he was a eucharistic minister.

 

Paul is survived by his children, Paul J. Jr. and his wife Marianne of Highland, Laura Luca and her husband John of Medway, MA, Joseph and his wife Kate of Maplewood, NJ; his grandchildren Kaela, Joseph, Tess, Finn, and Michael; his brother and sister-in-law Bud and Judy Schram of Wales, ME; his sister-in-law Grace Pacicca of Rome, as well as many nieces and nephews.

 

In addition to his wife and parents, Paul was predeceased by his brother Raymond Schram. 

 

Paul was especially thankful for the exceptional kindness and care he was shown by the nursing staff at the Medical Oncology Department at Northern Dutchess Hospital.

 

Calling hours will be held at the Dapson-Chestney Funeral Home, 51 W. Market St., Rhinebeck, NY on Thursday March 2 from 11:30am to 1PM. Funeral Services will begin at the funeral home at 1pm.

 

Burial will follow in the Rhinebeck Cemetery.
