Peter Vincent Lombardozzi, 86, of Rhinebeck, NY passed away on January 12, 2021 at Vassar Brothers Medical Center surrounded by his loving family.
Pete was born in Mt. Vernon, NY on November 14, 1934 to Emidio and Michelina (Campanelli) Lombardozzi. Pete was proud to serve for several years as a paratrooper with over 50 jumps in the United States Army and was honorably discharged in 1963. He loved his country and was a proud American patriot. Following the military, Pete entered construction becoming a master carpenter in the Mt. Vernon carpenters union local 493.
In 1972 Pete married his soulmate Anna (Sullivan) Bouloukos and adopted her two sons, Billy and Dino. On September 12, 1973 Pete and Anna welcomed their daughter Michelle. After unexpected tragedy took his brother and sister-in-law, Pete helped raise his three nephews, Anthony, Michael, and Joseph. For 13 years Pete provided a loving home for his mother Michelina in her golden years.
In June of 2006, after his retirement, Pete was able to live his dream when he and Anna were able to retire to the country in beautiful Rhinebeck, NY. He enjoyed quiet hobbies in retirement, baseball and the New York Yankees, growing tomatoes and above all else, spending time with his family. Devoted husband, loving father, selfless friend, Pete was a man who put everyone else's needs before his own.
Left to cherish his memory are his wife and soulmate Anna, son's Billy (his wife Stacey) and Dino, daughter Michelle (her husband Ron), his grandchildren Nick, Marley, Anthony, and Charlotte as well as his nephews Anthony, Michael, Joseph, Vinny and niece Susan. He was a great man that will be missed by all who knew him and forgotten by none.
Services were held at the Good Shepherd Church in Rhinebeck followed by burial in the Rhinebeck Cemetery.
