Bozrah, Ct. – Priscilla M. Forschler, 92, passed away, Sunday, October 29, 2023 at the home of her son in Clinton Corners, NY.
Priscilla grew up on the family farm in Griswold and was a longtime resident of Bozrah. She graduated as the salutatorian from Griswold High School in 1948 and from Middlebury College in 1952. She continued to revel in the Middlebury community. She attended an alumni college there into her 90’s, and a highlight of her later years was attending her 70th college reunion. Priscilla had a 27-year career as a social worker in various capacities with the State of Connecticut, most recently in the Department of Children and Youth Services, retiring in 1991. She later served as the Director of Social services for North Stonington.
Born November 13, 1930, in Norwich, Ct., she was the daughter of George and Ethel (Roode) Norman. Her brother Ernest still lives on the family farm with his wife Elizabeth. She was predeceased by her brother Stuart Norman (Lucille).
Priscilla is survived by her children, Kathryn Forschler of Bozrah, Stephen (Beth) Forschler of Clinton Corners, NY and Robert Forschler, Jr. of Griswold. She delighted in her two grandchildren, Emily (Matthew) Hahn and Nathan (Anna) Forschler and her six great grandchildren.
Priscilla lived a full life and enjoyed theatre at the Good Speed Opera House and exhibits at many local museums. She served as treasurer of Park Congregational church until recently and had loved to volunteer at the BOCC gift shop. Priscilla enjoyed many long friendships, including a group of ladies with whom she played bridge for over fifty years. She particularly enjoyed the family beach cottage at Groton Long Point.
