Ralton Lewis Obituary

Ralton Athelstan Lewis, 58, of Rhinebeck, NY, passed away peacefully on December 19, 2024, leaving behind a legacy of a life well lived.

Born in 1966, Ralton was a beloved figure in the Rhinebeck community, known for his infectious passion for life and his ability to spread joy to all who crossed his path. He is survived by his sister, Vela Sutton, and his brother, Anton Lewis.

He truly led a life of passion and purpose. Ralton embodied the philosophy that one should embrace the joy of living wholeheartedly.  His zest for life was evident in everything he did, from his musical endeavors to his outdoor adventures. Often seen playing his guitar, which he named 'Baby', by the bridge or drumming with friends, Ralton had music in his soul that he shared freely with all.

He was a true friend and confidant. Anyone who knew Ralton will remember him as a kind and attentive friend who always made time to listen. His serene presence and peaceful demeanor provided comfort to many, and he had a unique ability to make everyone feel heard and valued. That was just who he was. He was there for you, a gentle giant.

Ralton was not just a surfer on the ocean waves but also on the waves of life itself. His adventurous spirit extended to skateboarding through the streets of Rhinebeck, where he grew up. He approached life's challenges and joys with the same balance and grace he exhibited on his board. He never hit a pothole.

Ralton cherished his family and friends as treasures, and in return, he became a precious gem in the lives of countless individuals. His ability to live passionately and share his dreams inspired those around him to embrace life fully.

Ralton's life was a testament to the beauty of living well on your own terms. May his memory continue to inspire all who knew him to pursue their passions, cherish their friendships, and find the music in their souls. He will be deeply missed but fondly remembered as a man who truly understood the art of living life well.
