Richard "Dick" Schreiber Obituary

Rhinebeck - A lifelong Yankees and Giants fan, tennis aficionado, devoted husband, father, brother, uncle and grandfather, Dick Schreiber, of Rhinebeck, NY, passed on October 13, 2025.

Dick was born in 1932 and raised in Newark, NJ to Nathan and Rose Schreiber. He graduated from Weequahic High School and went on to earn his Bachelor’s degree from Lehigh University. He was also a proud veteran of the US Army.

Dick married Barbara, the love of his life in 1972 and they have shared 53 years of what they both describe as an endless honeymoon. Dick and Barbara loved their community and were awarded “The Good Egg Award.” In 2023 by The Rhinebeck Chamber of Commerce.

Dick had two children, Lauren and Gary, from his first marriage.  Dick was also the proud grandfather of Gary's son, Troy.

Dick is survived by his wife, children, and grandson, as well as extended family and many close friends.

Dick will always be remembered for his sweet and loving demeanor. He was adored by everybody that knew him. 

There are no calling hours.

A private burial was held for Dick’s family at the Temple B’Nai Abraham Memorial Park in New Jersey at his family plot.

A Celebration of Life will be held on November 1, 2025 at 11am at the Rhinebeck Reformed Church, 6368 Mill St., Rhinebeck, NY 12572.
