Roger W. Newkirk

Rhinebeck – Roger W. Newkirk, 81, a lifetime resident of Rhinebeck, passed away at Vassar Brother’s Medical Center on March 8, 2024.

Born in Rhinebeck on April 10, 1942, he was the son of late Richard and Minnie (Hanaburgh) Newkirk.

Roger is survived by his wife Helen (Ellsworth); his children Roger C. Newkirk Sr. (Faye), Tracey Thomas (Dexter), and Tammy Ginn Cossano(Demone); his grandchildren Joshua, Jordan, Dylan, Corey, Zackary, Shania, and Robbie; nine great grandchildren; as well as many extended family members, friends, and his beloved dog, Dawson.

He was predeceased by his grandson Roger C. Newkirk Jr. in 2021.

Calling hours will be held at the Dapson-Chestney Funeral Home, 51 W. Market St., Rhinebeck, on Wednesday March 13, 2024 from 10 am to 11 am.

Funeral services will begin at 11 am with Mike Irwin officiating.

Burial will follow in the Rhinebeck Cemetery.
