Rudolph "Rudy" Schrull Obituary

 

Rudolph "Rudy" Schrull, 65, passed away at his home in Staatsburg of February 15, 2022.

 

Born in Coldspring, NY on February 5, 1957, he was the son of Rudolph and Barbara (Tompkins) Schrull. When He was 9, the family moved to Rhinebeck, where he continued his schooling. On December 8, 1979 he married Patricia Harrison. Patricia survives at home.

 

For over 25 years he was a union truck driver for many local general freight companies and was a member of Locals 445 & 707. In 2004 he went to work for the town of Clinton Highway Department, having retired in 2019.

 

Rudy loved his family and his three springer spaniels, King, Riley & Brady. He loved being by the ocean and enjoyed many years vacation at their timeshare on Cape Cod.

 

In addition to his wife, Rudy is survived by his mother, Barbara of Texas; his children, Dale Schrull Retired U.S. Army First Sergeant of Alaska and Jody (Matthew) Lewis of Hyde Park; his grandchildren Damien Schrull, Madison Schrull, and Harper Lewis; and His sister Debbie (Richard Swaim) Schrull of Texas as well as many nieces and nephews.

 

He was predeceased by his father Rudolph in 2014 and his brother Jeffrey in 2018.

 

As per his wishes, cremation has taken place.

 

Memorial hours will be held at the Dapson-Chestney Funeral Home, 51 W. Market St., Rhinebeck on Wednesday February 23, From 4PM to 6PM.

 

Services will be private and at the convenience of the family.

 

In lieu of flowers, memorial donation can be made to the Hyde Park SPCA, 636 Violet Ave., Hyde Park, NY 12538.
