Sarah C. Haines, 76, a former resident of Rhinebeck, passed away on May 9, 2022 at Ghent Rehabilitation and Nursing Home surrounded by her loving family after a long struggle with Parkinson’s.
Born in Rhinebeck on November 26, 1945, she was the daughter of the late Byron and Helen (Butler) Wyant and the big sister to Byron, Claudette, Theresa, Patricia, and Kenneth.
She attended Dutchess Community College and worked for many years as a Circuit Board Solder Specialist, retiring from Mass Design in New Hampshire before moving back to New York.
Sarah loved to garden, crafting, animals and her career in the electronic industry.
Her faith as a Jehovah’s witness was very important to her and she was an active member of the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses in Red Hook, NY.
In addition to her parents, Sarah is predeceased by Theresa Cavally and Linda Wyant.
She is survived by her children, Aaron Haines (Dori) of New Hampshire and Nathan Haines of Albany; her siblings Byron Wyant of Germantown, Patricia (Patrick) Meehan of Germantown, Claudette (Martin) Cavally of Germantown, Kenneth (Cindy) Wyant of Clermont, and brother-in-law Lawrence Cavally Stephentown; nieces Kimberly (Michael), Julie, Jennifer, and Stephanie; nephews Andrew, Joe, Jim, Christopher, Michael, and Daniel as well as many great nieces and nephews.
Memorial services will be held at the Dapson-Chestney Funeral Home, 51 W. Market Street, Rhinebeck, on Saturday May 14 at 5:30 PM.
