Susan Martin Obituary

In Loving memory of Susan Martin

September 12th, 1946-June 28th, 2026

It is with deep love and heartfelt sorrow that we announce the passing of Susan Martin, a truly beautiful woman whose warmth, generosity, and kindness touched countless lives. Susan passed away on June 28, 2026, leaving behind a legacy of compassion, resilience, and devotion to those she loved.

Susan lived a life defined by quiet strength and enduring determination. She attended Rhinebeck High School and went on to proudly and successfully earn her GED-an accomplishment that reflected her perseverance and lifelong commitment to growth. Her professional life was equally admirable. She began her career at Western Publishing Company, where she demonstrated diligence and a steadfast work ethic. She later continued her career at IBM, where she dedicated 26 years of loyal service, forming lasting friendships and earning the respect of colleagues through her integrity and kindness

Beyond her professional achievements, Susan will be most remembered for the way she made others feel-valued, cared for, and loved. Her generous spirit and gentle heart brought comfort and joy to everyone she encountered. She gave freely of herself, offering unwavering support to family, friends, and anyone in need.

Susan's greatest pride was her family. She will be deeply missed by her beloved partner of 34 years, Steven Carson, whose life was enriched by her love and companionship. She leaves behind her devoted daughter, Suzanne Seider (Michael); her cherished grandchildren, Joshua Godfrey (Kayla), Sarah Lee (Dustin Mackenzie), and Katherine Contreni (Robert); and five amazing great-grandchildren: Elleana Lee, Aiden Godfrey, Elizabeth Contreni, Robert Contreni, and Dashiell Mackenzie.

Susan's life was a testament to the power of kindness and the beauty of a giving heart. Though she is no longer by our side, her spirit will live on in the many lives she touched and in the treasured memories held by all who knew her.

She will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered always.

"See you on the other side, Nana."
