Virginia ”Ginny” Nassar, 84, passed away peacefully at her home in Pleasant Valley, on September 1, 2021.
Born January 15, 1937, in Poughkeepsie, she was the daughter of the late Donald and late Agnes Lewis Whiteley.
On May 24, 1955, she married Joseph Nassar at St. Paul’s Church in Poughkeepsie. Joe passed away December 9, 1993.
Mrs. Nassar is survived by her four children, Karen O’Han (Joe) of Red Hook, NY; Mark Nassar (Nell) of San Francisco, CA; Kim Williams (Tim) of St Pete Beach, FL; Craig Nassar (Cindy) of Tucson, AZ, as well as three granddaughters, Asia O’Han, Sienna Aue (Max) and Olivia Nassar. She is survived by her brother Albert Whiteley and three sisters, Theresa Hosier, Donna Naile and Cheryl Grant.
She was a lifelong resident of Dutchess County. She was a loving and supportive wife who assisted her late husband Joe, with his insurance business for over 30 years. Ginny was a dedicated mother first and foremost. She treasured her children and embraced every moment spent with them. She especially loved her role as Nana. She never missed a ballgame, a recital or show if her children or grandchildren were involved.
Her friendships lasted a lifetime. She would meet weekly with her wonderful group of close friends for either bowling, cards or golf and was a regular at County Players, in Wappingers Falls. She never passed up a bus trip to Atlantic City!
She spent her 59th year at the Cape this last August surrounded by family and friends who were all blessed to have had that time together with her.
Ginny had a smile and a laugh that was infectious and will be missed by all who knew her. She had a wonderful life and thank you to all that made it so.
Virginia was a lifelong member of the First Congregational Church on Mill St. in Poughkeepsie, where she attended services regularly.
