Virginia "Ginny" Armstrong

Virginia “Ginny” Armstrong, 92, passed away surrounded by loved ones on July 11, 2021 at the Manor at Woodside in Poughkeepsie.

Born on February 24, 1929 in Middletown, NY, she was the daughter of the late Lewis and Hazel Hull.

Ginny graduated from Middletown High School in 1947. Following graduation, she went to school for teaching in Oneonta, NY, later working for Hyde Park Central Schools. After completing her education, she married John Armstrong on December 27, 1952. They celebrated 25 years of marriage until he passed away in November 1976.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by her son John Armstrong on June 10, 2010. Her surviving relatives include her son David “Dolly” Armstrong and wife Carol, and their two sons Jason and Tanner (Danielle) Armstrong, her son Charles Armstrong and wife Claudette and their two sons Shane (Janine) and Alex (Ashley) Armstrong. Virginia also had several great grandchildren.

Memorial hours will be held at the Dapson-Chestney Funeral Home, 51 W. Market St., Rhinebeck, NY on Friday July 16, 2021 from 4 to 6 PM.

Burial will be at the Rhinebeck Cemetery at the convenience of the family.
