Winthrop Chanler

CHANLER, Winthrop of Rhinebeck, New York died peacefully with family by his side on August 5, 2024.

Born in Boston, Massachusetts on December 8, 1961, he was sixty-two. Winthrop was a graduate of Darrow School.

He was a connoisseur of electronic music and lesser-known bands of the 1970’s and 1980’s. He had an extensive collection of vinyl records and countless cassette tapes and CDs.

Winthrop is survived by his mother Evelyn Rogers Chanler, his three siblings: David and wife Helen Chanler, Leslie Chanler Brooks and John Chanler, as well as three nephews and a niece: Andrew and wife Sarah Chanler, Evan Chanler, Katherine and husband Jasper Berg and Willie Brooks.

Winthrop’s burial service will be held in the cemetery at the Episcopal Church of St. John the Evangelist, 1114 River Road, Barrytown, New York on Saturday September 7th at 11: 30 AM.
