Dapson Chestney Funeral Home

Dapson-Chestney Funeral Home is the most recent addition to a 158 year history of funeral service in Rhinebeck. Carroll Furniture and Undertaking was the first business to operate in what is now the Battistoni Real Estate office building. Subsequently, Mr. Henry Cornelious established the Carroll and Cornelious Funeral Service, followed by the Dapson Funeral Home, Inc. The funeral home returned to the sight of the Cornelious Funeral service in 1995.

Within its current location the funeral home has comfortable chapel space able to accommodate small and large families, seating for more than 100 people, a children's entertainment room, ample off street and on street parking and merchandise rooms all under the same roof.

The funeral home continues to provide specialized funeral service requests to a majority of families in the greater Rhinebeck area, including, Milan, Red Hook, Tivoli, Clinton Corners and Staatsburg. In addition, the funeral home shares ownership in the Peck & Peck Funeral Homes of Pine Plains and Copake, providing the opportunity to serve families throughout the region.
